Senate Amends, Postpones Omnibus Property Insurance Package

Apr 24, 2009

The Senate took up Senate Bill 1950, its version of the omnibus property insurance package, today, April 24, 2009.

The bill’s original sponsor, Senator Garrett Richter, briefly explained the components of SB 1950, after which the Senate began to consider the 26 amendments that had been filed to the bill.

After the adoption of two amendments to the bill (863538 and 146784), then the adoption of a substitute amendment (261466) offered by Senator Mike Fasano to one of Senator Richter’s amendments (147230), Senator Richter moved to temporarily postpone his bill.  It is unclear if the bill will be reconsidered today.
