Risk Management Solutions, ARA, AIR Present Today at Florida Commission on Hurricane Loss Projection Methodology

Jun 1, 2011

The Florida Commission on Hurricane Loss Projection Methodology (“Commission”) meets today, June 2, 2011, to review hurricane loss projection models submitted for acceptability.

After an 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. closed meeting for discussion of trade secrets relating to Applied Research Associates, Inc.’s (“ARA”) Model, HurLoss Version 5.0, the public portion of the meeting will begin immediately thereafter, during which ARA will make its presentation for the Commission’s approval.

During that time period, AIR Worldwide will present its request for Commission acceptability of a software update (CLASIC/2 v13) to the Atlantic Tropical Cyclone Model v12.0.1, which was approved by the Commission after it had been temporarily suspended on October 26, 2010 because of a software error.   A revised version of AIR Model v12.0.1 (Version 12.0.4) was approved under the 2009 Standards to Determine Acceptability at a November 8, 2010 emergency Commission meeting.

At 1:00 p.m. tomorrow, Risk Management Solutions will participate in a closed meeting for a discussion of trade secrets with the Commission, after which it will make a 3:00 p.m. public presentation of its model, RiskLink 11.0.SP1.

To participate in the meeting via teleconference, U.S. and Canada residents should call (888) 808-6959; international participants must dial (770) 659-9299.  The Conference Code for both lines is 4765251363.

A representative from Colodny Fass will attend the meeting and provide a report on the proceedings.

If more time is needed to complete today’s agenda, a June 16 follow-up meeting has been tentatively scheduled.
