Governor Crist seeks $50 million federal disaster grant to deal with Gulf oil spill effects

Governor Charlie Crist sent a letter to President Barack Obama today, May 6, 2010, in which he requested a $50 million disaster National Emergency Grant from the United States Department of Labor to help Florida deal with the impending effects of the Gulf oil spill.

He also asked that the President apply the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act to Florida, which would allow Florida enhanced assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
