Public Meeting to Discuss the Potential Creation of a Workers’ Compensation Advisory Board

I. Welcome and Introductions

 

A. Opening Remarks

(1) Purpose of the meeting

To bring together participants in the workers’ compensation marketplace to discuss the potential creation of a Workers’ Compensation Advisory Board that through its work might enhance the workers’ compensation process.

(2) Scope of the meeting

The discussion today should be focused primarily on the process, potential methods that might improve its efficiency and effectiveness, and where an advisory board might be of value to intervene. This is an open forum discussion of ideas.

 

B. Welcome

Recognize all members in attendance and their organizations.

 

II. General Discussion

 

A. Identification

(1) A general discussion among participants focusing on the perceived most troublesome areas within the workers’ compensation arena.

(2) This may include, but not be limited to:

(a) Medical authorizations

(b) Claim denials

2. “Not in the course and scope of employment”

(c) Petitions for dispute resolution

2. Other reasons

 

B. Method of Improvement
