News Release: Dana Young announces candidacy for Florida House, District 57

The following news release was issued by Dana Young on September 1.

Sept. 1, 2009 — Dana D. Young, a long-time South Tampa resident has just filed as a candidate for the House of Representatives District 57 seat currently held by Rep. Faye Culp, who will not be seeking re-election in November of 2010 due to term limitations.

Young, a fifth generation Floridian, is an attorney in the field of regulated industries and has represented a broad spectrum of businesses and land owners in regulatorycompliance, permitting, zoning, and administrative law proceedings.

“As a long time community resident, I understand the challenging economic times andissues facing our community, state and nation, and I bring the perspective of an attorney, wife, and mother to these issues,” said Young.

Community Leaders are already expressing strong support for Dana Young’s campaign “Dana is very intelligent and diligent. She believes strongly in good government and willbe an excellent representative of the people of this community,” commented Rhea Law,

Young, a Republican and current member of the Hillsborough County Republican PartyExecutive Committee, is a member of the Historic Hyde Park Neighborhood Associationand actively volunteers at St. John’s Episcopal School. Along with her extensivebackground in both law and business regulations, Dana has had the privilege of takingtime away from her legal practice to be a full-time mom and raise her children, Alexandraand Carson. She has been married for nineteen years to Matt Young, a local businessowner.

Florida House District 57 includes South Tampa, and parts of Tampa, Town ‘n’ Country,and Westchase. The Republican primary will be held on August 24, 2010 with thegeneral election to be held on November 2, 2010.
