Texas Department of Insurance Accepting Comments on Captives Licensing Draft Rules

Sep 11, 2013

The Texas Department of Insurance (“TDI”) is accepting comments until September 16, 2013 on informal draft Rules and related forms and instructions on the licensing of captive insurance companies.

Senate Bill 734, enacted earlier this year, created Chapters 223A and Section 964 in Texas’ Insurance Code.  The bill also provides for authorized fees and for the imposition of taxes on captives.
