Senate Bill 2562: Capital investment options study proposed for hurricane catastrophe-related losses

Mar 28, 2007

Senate Bill 2562 directs the State Board of Administration to conduct a study on providing or participating in capital investment options for hurricane catastrophe-related losses, and to report its findings to the President of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives. The bill, sponsored by Senator Jeremy Ring (D-Broward), appropriates 350,000 dollars from the General Revenue Fund for this purpose.

SB 2562 creates an undesignated section of the Florida Statutes.

In addition to the SB 2562 text, we have also attached the Senate staff analysis for this bill.

At this time, there is no House companion bill, meaning that the language would have to pass as an amendment on another bill to actually be considered.
