Meeting Addressing Louisiana Insurance Law Changes to be Scheduled

Jan 21, 2009

Pursuant to legislation effective as of January 1, 2009, the Louisiana Department of Insurance (“Department”) has been working to re-designate Title 22, the section of law pertaining to insurance in the State of Louisiana, into a new format and number scheme.

Substantive changes will be addressed in various legislation drafts, which are expected to be disseminated in February 2009.  A meeting will be scheduled with industry representatives to discuss these proposed changes.

To help aid with the aforementioned number and format conversion, a Concordance Table has been developed.  This may be accessed by clicking here.

The new version of Title 22 is available through the Louisiana Legislature’s Web Site by clicking:

  1. “Louisiana Laws” on the left-hand side of the page
  2. “Table of Contents” under “Louisiana Laws Table of Contents”
  3. “Revised Statutes”
  4. “Title 22:  Insurance”
