FPCA Homeowners Division: Follow-Up Comments on Revised Uniform Mitigation Inspection Form (OIR-B1-1802) Requested; Revised Form is Attached

Jul 19, 2011

Florida Property and Casualty Association Homeowners Division Members:

On June 20, 2011, the Florida Office of Insurance Regulation (“OIR”) held a public hearing on Proposed Rule 69O-170.0155 of the Florida Administrative Code relating to the Uniform Mitigation Verification Inspection Form.  As a result of the hearing, the OIR received several suggested changes and has revised the Form based on such suggestions.  The revised Form is attached.

The OIR is currently requesting that those who submitted comments specify how the new language in the Form ties directly to an applicable credit, discount or reduction, and/or why the revision is necessary to ensure a credit, discount, or reduction is awarded.  Further, the OIR is requesting a statement regarding whether the requested information supports credits or discounts that are referenced in the 2008 ARA Study.  Responses are due to the OIR by the close of business Thursday, July 21, 2011.
