Commercial Litigator and Regulatory Lawyer Tim West Joins Colodny Fass As An Associate

A litigator with expertise in regulatory and enforcement proceedings, attorney Tim West joined Colodny Fass in March 2016 as an Associate in the Firm’s award-winning Insurance Defense and Litigation Division.

A member of the Florida Bar and admitted to practice in all Florida Southern and Middle District courts, Mr. West handles Business Litigation, Insurance Defense, Administrative and Insurance Regulatory Law, and Employment Law matters.

Mr. West has managed all aspects of defense litigation and has extensive experience with condominium and homeowners’ association disputes, as well as complex labor and employment matters, including representation of employers against discrimination charges filed with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and discrimination claims under Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act, and their Florida counterparts.

In addition, he has handled administrative law matters, working with regulatory cases before the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation, and Florida Commission on Human Relations; civil rights litigation; directors and officers disputes; and errors and omissions litigation, among others.

Mr. West earned his Juris Doctor from Miami’s St. Thomas University School of Law, where he was a member of the Elder Law Society. He was also recognized for multiple consecutive years on the St. Thomas Dean’s List and received School’s Distinguished Service Award.

He is a graduate of California State University, where he received his Master of Arts in Communication Studies and was a Graduate Research Fellow. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Communications and Political Science from Texas Tech University.

Known for his oratory prowess, Mr. West volunteers as an assistant coach for Cypress Bay High School’s nationally competitive Speech and Debate Team.
