2008/2009 Workers’ Comp Fraud Combat Annual Report Published; Florida Department of Financial Services Anti-fraud Efforts Ranked Among National Top Four

Published today, December 22, 2009, the Florida Department of Financial Services (“DFS”) annual workers’ compensation fraud combat report for the period of July 1, 2008 through June 30, 2009 states that national Coalition Against Insurance Fraud has ranked Florida’s anti-fraud efforts among those of the top four states in the nation.
The statutory report is a joint summary of the DFS Division of Insurance Fraud, Bureau of Workers’ Compensation Fraud and the Division of Workers’ Compensation, Bureau of Compliance efforts to combat workers’ compensation fraud and employer non-compliance.
The report, which can be accessed by clicking here, is required by law to be submitted to Florida legislative leadership by January 1, 2010.
