House and Senate Property Amendments 05/04/06

This afternoon the House and Senate reached a tentative agreement on the major hurricane-related insurance issues.
Senate Banking & Insurance Chairman Rudy Garcia and Senator Alexander filed a series of amendments that put into practice the recent agreements.
Members of the House have indicated that there are still some issues that are not resolved, and there may be further amendments.
Senate President Tom Lee intimated that it is even possible that a special session could be scheduled for the week after next; however, there is still a strong possibility that a final bill will be passed before end of regular session tomorrow.
After a brief recess, the Senate has just reconvened, and we will provide you with further details later this evening.
