June 12 Live Event Qualifies for CLE Credits

Lawyers and others who want to learn more about Florida’s legislative process, state politics and even the inner workings of The Florida Bar’s own legislative agenda will benefit from a two-hour live Webinar on Friday, June 12, 2015 moderated by Colodny Fass lawyer-lobbyist Nikki Fried, who chairs The Florida Bar Young Lawyers Division Legislative Affairs Committee.

Now in its second year, the complimentary event begins at 11 a.m. and runs until 1 p.m. (EST).  Eligible participants will qualify for Continuing Legal Education (CLE) certification credit in the General, Ethics, State and Federal Government, and Administrative Pratice.

“We have put together a program that runs the gamut of law practice as it interfaces with Florida government,” Ms. Fried explained.  “Decoding Tallahassee’s ‘other-worldliness’ and how it impacts the practice of law is critical to know, not only for lawyers, but for anyone who does business or otherwise works with Florida state government.”

With the undercurrent of a Star Wars theme, the event is entitled “In a Galaxy Far, Far Away a/k/a Tallahassee” and features insight on The Florida Bar legislative initiatives, as well as presentations from attorneys who work in Florida legislative, regulatory and Executive Branch positions.

Other speakers will provide perspectives from an in-house lawyer/lobbyist’s point of view, as well as touch on related issues such as ethics and the use of social media in politics.
