THE NEWS SERVICE OF FLORIDA: Federal Funds Entwined In Senate Health Care Budget

The Senate Health and Human Services Appropriations Committee has proposed a $25.1 billion budget that calls for billions in federal stimulus funds to make ends meet.

The Agency for Health Care Administration includes $1.9 billion in stimulus monies to pad its $17.5 billion budget, which includes $3.9 billion in general revenue.

The proposal also includes cuts to provider reimbursements in ACHA and $61 million in tobacco trust fund cuts to Department of Children and Family programs.
