Surplus Lines Bills Accelerate in Florida Legislature–April 22

On Tuesday, April 21, 2009, Senate Bill 1894 relating to Surplus Lines by Senator Mike Bennett was withdrawn from its final two committees of reference (General Government Appropriations and Policy and Steering Committee on Ways and Means) and placed on the Senate Calendar for second reading.
Its companion bill, House Bill 853 relating to Surplus Lines Insurers by State Representative Pat Patterson, was placed on the House of Representatives’ Special Order Calendar for Thursday, April 23.
