News Release: Senator Mike Fasano Receives Three Prestigious Awards

During the past month State Senator Mike Fasano has been honored by three organizations for his legislative efforts on behalf of the individuals the groups serve.

The Florida Police Benevolent Association has named Senator Fasano its 2009 Senator of theĀ  Year: “Senator Mike Fasano is the epitome of a champion for law enforcement officers and their families,” PBA president John Rivera states. “His career is full of major accomplishments that further protect and preserve the law enforcement profession for today’s officer and the generations of officers to follow.”

NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) of Pasco has named Senator Fasano its Pasco County Legislator of the Year: “The distinguished Legislator of the Year award recognizes outstanding leadership in advocating for programs, policies and services that improve the lives of all Pasco County residents who live with a serious and persistent mental illness.”

The Florida Association for the Education of Young Children has designated Senator Fasano its 2009 Champion for Children for “outstanding service to children and families in Florida.”

“I am honored and humbled that these fine organizations have recognized my contributions to the betterment of their constituents in Florida,” Senator Fasano states. “As a legislator the needs of law enforcement, children and those with mental illness have all been top priorities of mine. I look forward to continuing to work on behalf of these groups and the people they serve.”
