Mar 2, 2010

The Miami Herald published this story on March 2, 2010.

Karen Aronowitz was reelected to a third term as president of the United Teachers of Dade, the union that represents teachers, teachers aides, clerical workers and security monitors.

The three-day election, which ended Thursday, was the first in which members could vote online for their leadership.

She beat challengers Patrenia Dozier-Washington and Eugenio Perez. Aronowitz will serve as head of the union for the next three years.

“I’m proud that the members elected me to a third term,” Aronowitz said. “I’m looking forward to working with them. There’s lots of work to do.”
