Louisiana Insurance Commissioner Suspends Certain Insurance Code Provisions In Wake of Historic Flooding

Aug 18, 2016

Due to the State of Emergency and the historic flooding in parts of Louisiana, Insurance Commissioner Jim Donelon is promulgating Emergency Rule 27, which retroactively suspends statutory provisions of the Insurance Code concerning cancelations, terminations, nonrenewals, and nonreinstatements of insurance policies, and also gives insureds more time to comply with other policy provisions.

The Emergency Rule applies to all lines of insurance and all regulated entities.
