Four Insurance-Related Bills Scheduled for Hearing By Florida House of Representatives’ Insurance and Banking Subcommittee Today, February 19

The Florida House of Representatives’ Insurance and Banking Subcommittee will meet today, February 19, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. to discuss the following insurance-related bills:

HB 223 relating to Insurance by State Representative Larry Lee would allow insurers to post a base insurance policy online as a means of delivering a policy to an insured.

      HB 343 relating to Wrap-Up Insurance Policies by State Representative Bill Hager would authorize wrap-up insurance policies for non-public construction projects to include large deductibles when the combined workers’ compensation standard premium for all covered entities exceeds $500,000.

      HB 553 relating to Workers’ Compensation Administration by State Representative Bill Hager would effect a variety of minor changes to responsibilities of the Florida Department of Financial Services and, specifically, those of the Florida Division of Workers’ Compensation.

      HB 211 relating to the Florida Insurance Guaranty Association (“FIGA”) by State Representative Jake Raburn would change the methods by which FIGA collects its assessments in the event of a deficit.
