Florida Senator Frank Artiles Files Property Insurance Appraisal Umpire Bill–SB 94

Florida Senator Frank Artiles filed SB 94 relating to Property Insurance Appraisers and Property Insurance Appraisal Umpires today, December 2, 2016.
The bill would include “property insurance appraisal umpires” among various regulations relating to Florida-licensed agents and adjusters, in addition to creating a new section of law that would be called the “Property Insurance Appraisal Umpire Law.”
The new section would create explicit definitions and qualifications for licensing property insurance appraisal umpires, as well as provide for ethical standards.
SB 94 would appropriate $136,337 to fund full-time oversight of the new law under the Florida Department of Financial Services.
No companion bill has yet been filed in the House.
