Florida Division of Workers’ Compensation Schedules July 13 Rule Hearings to Update Health Care Provider and Ambulatory Surgical Centers Reimbursement Manuals

Jun 20, 2011

The Florida Division of Workers’ Compensation (“DWC”) has scheduled two Rule Hearings on July 13, 2011 for the purpose of updating the Florida Workers’ Compensation Health Care Provider Reimbursement Manual (Rule Chapter 69L-7.020, F.A.C.) and the Florida Workers’ Compensation Reimbursement Manual for Ambulatory Surgical Centers (“ASC”) (Rule Chapter 69L-7.100, F.AC.).

If requested in writing within 21 days of the June 17, 2011 publication of the Notice of Proposed Rule, a hearing for proposed Rule 69L-7.020 will be held at 9:00 a.m. and a hearing for proposed Rule 69L-7.100 will be held at 11:00 a.m.  To view the Notice, click here.

Each proposed Rule would adopt the 2010 edition of its respective reimbursement manual, which publishes the maximum reimbursement allowances as established by the Three Member Panel pursuant to s. 440.13(12), F.S.  The proposed Rules also would incorporate updated reference materials and medical billing process guidelines.

Additionally, the ASC Manual, as amended, would incorporate certain policy language currently contained within Rule 69L-7.602, F.A.C., entitled “Florida Workers’ Compensation Medical Services Billing, Filing and Reporting Rule.”
