At Media Conference Today, State Representative Matt Hudson and Senator Alan Hays highlight additional extraordinary costs associated with repackaged drugs

Nov 2, 2011

State Representative Matt Hudson and Senator Alan Hays were joined today, November 2, 2011, by representatives of the Florida Office of Insurance Regulation and the business community to announce the filing of legislation (House Bill 511 and Senate Bill 668) on repackaged drugs for the 2012 Regular Legislative Session.

In a media conference, Representative Hudson and Senator Hays highlighted the additional extraordinary costs associated with repackaged drugs.

Specifically, Representative Hudson noted the standard of patient care will not be impacted with this legislation.

Senator Hays said he is optimistic a bill will pass this Session, although “the battle” will be difficult.  Similar legislation passed in 2010, but was vetoed by then-Governor Charlie Crist.
