Colodny Fass& Webb announced today, January 24, 2014, that veteran Florida lobbyist H. Douglas Bruce has joined the Firm in its Tallahassee office.

Formerly the Principal of Doug Bruce and Associates, Mr. Bruce has represented the governmental interests of a variety of national and international corporate clients in diverse industries.  He has developed public policy related to transportation, education, environmental regulation, community redevelopment, municipal services, utilities and others.  Particularly skilled in legislative appropriations, he has been instrumental in securing nearly $1 billion in funding for a wide variety of client initiatives over the course of his 30-year career.

“If you want to win in Tallahassee, there’s no substitute for Doug’s brand of 360-degree insight and ability,” Firm Managing Partner Mike Colodny said.  “For an all-star linebacker like him to join our team says a lot about our Firm’s heavy-duty growth during the past decade.”

Experienced in lobbying Florida’s Executive Branch, Legislature and regulatory agencies, Mr. Bruce has held prominent positions with some of Tallahassee’s most respected organizations, for which he has provided clients with counsel on political campaigns and fundraising, legislative and regulatory alternatives to litigation, grant planning, and political and legislative strategy.

Mr. Bruce brings to the firm both public and private sector leadership experience, having worked at high levels in staff positions in both the Florida House of Representatives and Senate, as well as in such prominent positions as Vice President of Governmental Affairs for Associated Industries of Florida.

“Colodny Fass& Webb has earned and kept its place as one of Florida’s top lobbying powerhouses,” Mr. Bruce said.  “It’s proven to be a firm that’s big on substance and accountability.  I’m looking forward to working with this dynamic team.”

A graduate of Florida State University, Mr. Bruce is a founding member of the Tallahassee PACE Center for Girls, among other civic and community accomplishments.  He serves as a Trustee of the Talquin Electric Cooperative.

News of Mr. Bruce’s new position was featured today in SaintPetersBlog.com, one of Florida’s top political blogs.
