Strike-All Compromise Filed to Public Adjuster Bill in Advance of Senate Banking and Insurance Committee Meeting Today

Mar 17, 2010

A strike-all Committee amendment has been filed to SB 2264 in advance of the bill’s scheduled hearing by the Florida Senate Committee on Banking and Insurance today, March 17, 2010 at 1:00 p.m.

In its current form, SB 2264 would provide more stringent solicitation restrictions on public adjusters in Florida, as well as require property insurance claims to be reported no later than three years after the date of the occurrence.

Senator Mike Bennett, who sponsored both the bill and the amendment, had expressed his desire to secure an agreement between insurer and public adjuster representatives on the content of SB 2264 prior to today’s meeting.
