State Representative Jake Raburn Files Florida Insurance Guaranty Association Bill (HB 143)

State Representative Jake Raburn filed HB 143 relating to the Florida Insurance Guaranty Association (“FIGA”) today, October 4, 2013.
The bill, which substantially amends s. 631.57, F.S., would revise FIGA’s duties, authorizing it to collect regular and emergency assessments directly from policyholders. Further, it clarifies that these assessments are not considered insurance premium for premium tax purposes. It also makes assorted technical and grammatical corrections.
