South Florida Regional Planning Council, Marathon Chamber Host Hurricane Irma Recovery Forum

The South Florida Regional Planning Council and Greater Marathon Chamber of Commerce announced a public forum scheduled for Tuesday, February 27, 2018, at which participants will learn about tips and tools for business continuity and the resources that are available to assist business owners from the Florida “Stakeholder Business Development Commitment” (also known as the “SBDC”) following Hurricane Irma.

The meeting, which will be held at the Faro Blanco Resort and Yacht Club in Marathon, runs from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will be followed by discussions on economic recovery and resiliency efforts, Federal and State Partner panel discussions, lunch networking opportunities, as well as information on State and EDA Resources for Economic Recovery and Resiliency, and Creative Financing and Long-Term Revitalization strategies.

These presentations will focus on best practices and resources for economic recovery specifically for Monroe County with special attention to aquaculture, business, workforce, affordable housing, and tourism recovery.
