Insurance Agency Adds iPhone Application

A local insurance company is launching today a free iPhone application for its Florida policyholders that will allow users to upload photos of storm damage and file and check the status of claims.

The app from Ormond Beach-based Security First Insurance Co. arrives at a nice time, as Hurricane Irene is threatening to cause some trouble later this week for the Volusia-Flagler area. Security First spokeswoman Marissa Buckley said the company had been planning to introduce the tool before a storm arrived this hurricane season.

The tool is called Security First Claim. More information is available at securityfirstflorida.com/mobile.

Security First has 8,839 homeowner’s insurance customers in the Volusia-Flagler area.
