Rules Relating to Unfair, Deceptive Insurance Trade Practice to be Reviewed at November 15 Florida Department of Financial Services Hearing

The Florida Department of Financial Services’ (“DFS”) Division of Agents and Agency Services will hold Rule Hearings on November 15, 2010 to continue reviewing proposed Rules regarding unlawful inducements in relation to Florida’s unfair insurance trade practices statutes.

Proposed Rules 69B-210.005 and 69B-210.010 define the term “unlawful inducement” and include examples of prohibited acts and practices that would be considered unlawful inducements to purchase insurance.  Proposed Rule 69B-210.010 relates specifically to title insurance.
