Recently Adopted Health Care Provider Reimbursement Manual Not Yet Effective Until Legislative Ratification, Florida Division of Workers’ Compensation Cautions

Aug 19, 2015

The recently amended Rule 69L-7.020, F.A.C. adopting the 2015 Edition of the Florida Workers’ Compensation Health Care Provider Reimbursement Manual (“Manual”) will not be effective until ratified by the Florida Legislature–presumably in 2016.

In Informational Bulletin DFS-03-2015 issued today, August 19, 2015, the Florida Division of Workers’ Compensation (“DWC”) advised that, because its estimated regulatory costs for the revised Rule would require legislative ratification, the Rule–and thus, the Manual–would not be effective until the ratification is secured.  The DWC will pursue ratification during the 2016 Legislative Session.

The purpose and effect of Rule 69L-7.020, F.A.C. is to update the schedule of maximum reimbursement allowances to 2014 Medicare reimbursement rates as adopted by the Three Member Panel on January 22, 2015.
