Notice of Proposed Rulemaking on Rule 690-142.200 relating to military sales practices

The Florida Financial Services Commission, on behalf of the Florida Office of Insurance Regulation (“OIR”) has issued a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking on Rule 690-142.200 relating to military sales practices.
The purpose of the Rulemaking is to set forth standards to protect active duty service members of the United States Armed Forces from certain insurance sales practices, to provide definitions and to declare specified acts and practices as constituting violations of existing Florida law.
A Hearing has been scheduled for August 2, 2007, 9:30 a.m. at the OIR offices in Tallahassee, FL. However if no request in writing is made within 21 days of the Notice date, no hearing will be held.
