Nevada Chief Insurance Counsel Amy Parks To Serve Second Time as Acting Insurance Commissioner

Following the resignation of former Nevada Insurance Commissioner Scott J. Kipper, Nevada Department of Business and Industry Director Bruce Breslow appointed Amy L. Parks as Acting Insurance Commissioner yesterday, July 7, 2015.
The appointment will be the second time Ms. Parks has served as Acting Insurance Commissioner. She has served as Chief Insurance Counsel and Hearing Officer for the Nevada Division of Insurance since the spring of 2009, and Insurance Counsel and Hearing Officer for the argency since August 2004.
Acting Commissioner Parks is an alumnus of the University of Nevada in Reno, from which she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Laboratory Medicine in 1980.
In December 1995, she received her Juris Doctorate degree from Northwestern School of Law at Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon.
Ms. Parks was admitted to the Oregon State Bar in 1996 and the State Bar of Nevada in 1997.
