NCOIL 2008 Annual Meeting Report Published

The National Conference of Insurance Legislators (“NCOIL”) recently concluded its 2008 Annual Meeting in Duck Key, Florida. At the meeting, Legislators considered proposals related to:
- An NAIC reinsurance regulatory framework
- Sarbanes-Oxley-like corporate governance
- Physician reimbursement contract arrangements
- Transparency in prescription drug care
- Insurance Legislators Foundation scholarships
- State authority over fixed indexed annuities
- Legal settlements and public policymaking
- Medicare secondary payer reforms
