National Association of Insurance Commissioners Surplus Lines Implementation Task Force Meets Today, December 8; Additional Changes to Nonadmitted Insurance Multi-State Agreement to be Considered

Dec 8, 2010

The National Association of Insurance Commissioners (“NAIC”) Surplus Lines Implementation Task Force (“Task Force”) will meet today, December 8, 2010 at 3:30 p.m. (ET) to consider additional changes to the Non-admitted Insurance Multi-State Agreement (“NIMA”).

The Task Force voted last week to adopt NIMA as its preferred “concept” for addressing state-based surplus lines reform mandated by the Non-admitted and Reinsurance Reform Act in Title V of H.R. 4173, also known as the Dodd-Frank Act of 2010.

Materials for today’s meeting, including the most recent draft of NIMA, are attached.
