NAIC Working Group to Discuss Proposed Insurance Holding Company Model Act Groupwide Supervision Revisions

The National Association of Insurance Commissioners (“NAIC”) Group Solvency Issues Working Group (“Working Group”) has scheduled an October 24, 2014 conference call to redraft proposed changes to the NAIC Insurance Holding Company Model Act (#440).

Prompted by comments received from various interested parties, the revisions provide a process for the authorization of a group-wide supervisor for an international insurance group, among other changes.

The following interested parties submitted comments and proposed revisions (begins on page 39 in the meeting materials):

  • American Council of Life Insurers
  • National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies/Property Casualty Insurers Association of America/Blue Cross Blue Shield Association
  • Reinsurance Association of America
  • America’s Health Insurance Plans
  • American Insurance Association

The conference call will begin at 3:30 p.m. (ET) and is scheduled to last 90 minutes.
