Long-Term Care Insurance Agent Training to NAIC Standards Rule Hearing Report

A Rule hearing was held on Wednesday, October 8, 2008, regarding proposed changes to Rule number 69O-157.1155: Producer Training.

The hearing was presided over by Gerry Smith from the Florida Office of Insurance Regulation.

Proposed amendments to the Rule include addition of required training standards consistent with those used by the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (“NAIC”) for agents who sell long-term care insurance.

No comments from the public were given. The Rule will continue through the normal rule development process. We will continue to report on this matter, as appropriate.
