Interim Committee Meetings for Florida Legislature’s 2018 Session Begin September 12

Interim Committee Meetings begin Tuesday, September 12, 2017 in preparation for Florida’s 2018 Legislative Session, it was announced today, June 22, 2017.

In 2016, lawmakers passed SB 7076, which effected a January 9 start date for the 2018 Session. 

Florida’s Constitution provides that the Session begins annually in March during odd-numbered years, but affords the option of commencing it early during even-numbered years.

The Session also begins early during once-a-decade redistricting years after the federal Census is complete.

A copy of both Senate President Joe Negron’s and House Speaker Richard Corcoran’s memos, along with a list of important 2018 Session dates is attached.
