Insured Losses for Subtropical Storm Alberto Total $50 Million

Karen Clark & Co. indicates that subtropical storm Alberto will be responsible for insured losses totaling about $50 million.

The estimates include insured losses to residential, commercial, and industrial properties and autos. Alberto — the first named storm of the 2018 hurricane season — is only the ninth named storm on record to make U.S. landfall prior to the start of the hurricane season on June 1. The storm made landfall near Panama City, Fla., on May 28 with sustained winds of 45 mph.
