Insurance Veteran Douglas W. Reynolds Named President and CEO of Gulfstream Property and Casualty Insurance Company

As President/CEO, Doug Reynolds will guide Gulfstream Property and Casualty Insurance Company’s continued success in Florida and Louisiana, as well as expansion along the hurricane-prone Gulf and Atlantic states.   

SARASOTA, FL (Jan. 8, 2015) – Gulfstream Property and Casualty Insurance Company, a regional property carrier providing homeowners, renters, condominium and fire coverage with operations in five states, announced the appointment of industry veteran Douglas W. Reynolds as President and Chief Executive Officer.  He takes the helm from Kerry Ford, Gulfstream’s Vice President of Underwriting, who was serving as interim President.

During his career, Mr. Reynolds has served in key executive leadership roles for insurance and financial services companies, including Exigen Capital, ACE Group, Horace Mann Educators Corp., AIG and Allstate Insurance Co.  Notably, he began his career as an underwriter at Allstate and subsequently advanced to one of the company’s top executive positions as Senior Vice President of Independent Agent Markets.

At Horace Mann, Mr. Reynolds was responsible for all facets of the company’s countrywide property and casualty and financial services business. He later joined ACE Group as President of International Personal Lines and SME (small/medium enterprises), and most recently was a partner at Exigen Capital, where he was responsible for developing the group’s insurance practice.   

Mr. Reynolds received a Bachelor’s Degree with a double major in marketing and management from Valparaiso University.  He also completed the Executive Management Program at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.
