Insurance School to Open

Timothy Ball, a retired Edgewater police officer who now operates an insurance agency, Ball Insurance Services of Florida, on Friday announced plans to launch an insurance school to train future agents.

He made the announcement after receiving approval from the state Department of Financial Services to teach the 40-hour Florida Insurance Department’s life, health and variable annuity course, which, when completed, will fully qualify students to take the state’s license examination for new insurance agents.

Classes will initially be held at the Holiday Inn Express in Orange City, but Ball’s agency and insurance school will soon move into an office at 116 W. Indian River Blvd. in Edgewater, he wrote in a news release. For details, call 386-957-3207.
