Georgia Insurance Office Examining Scope of No-Fault Accident Surcharges

Feb 22, 2018

The Georgia Office of Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner advised yesterday, February 21, 2018, that it is currently conducting an examination to uncover the scope of insurer surcharges relating to multi-vehicle not-at-fault accidents.

“It has come to my attention that some automobile insurers are charging consumers who have been involved in a not-at-fault multivehicle accident more than consumers who are similarly situated, but have not been involved in a not-at-fault multivehicle accident,” Georgia Insurance Commissioner Ralph Hudgens wrote today in Bulletin 18-EX-2.
