Former Miami-Dade County Assistant State Attorney Carolyn Gilbert Epstein Joins Colodny Fass Fraud-Fighting Litigation Team

Former Miami-Dade County Assistant State Attorney Carolyn Gilbert Epstein has joined Colodny Fass as Of Counsel, the law firm announced today, October 18, 2016.

She will work with Colodny Fass’ award-winning Litigation Team, which was named as “Insurance Litigation Department of the Year” by the Daily Business Review. 

For Colodny Fass, she will serve in a Senior Trial Counsel position, focusing on representing the Firm’s property and casualty insurance clients in matters involving first-party property claims, Special Investigative Unit (SIU) investigations, general liability and various complex insurance coverage disputes, many involving the defense and prosecution of fraudulent insurance claims. 

“Carolyn has extensive and varied experience in the areas of fraud, white collar crime and public corruption from her many years in both the private and public sectors,” said Shareholder Amy Koltnow, who is also a member of the Colodny Fass Executive Committee.  “Her strong ties in Miami-Dade and Monroe counties will be a major asset to our clients.” 

While in private practice, Ms. Epstein handled cases involving contracts, securities matters and complex commercial litigation disputes.   

She earned her J.D. from University of Miami School of Law and her Bachelor of Science in Journalism from the University of Florida. She serves on the Executive Board and volunteers as the Mentor Coordinator of LEAP (Ladies Empowerment & Action Program), a non-profit women’s re-entry entrepreneurial program at Homestead Correctional Institution.
