Florida Senator Garrett Richter Files Companion to Citizens Property Insurance Depopulation Bill (SB 578) Today

Sponsored by Senator Garrett Richter, Senate Bill 578 relating to Citizens Property Insurance Corporation (“Citizens”) Depopulation was filed today, October 18, 2011.
Together with its House companion, House Bill 245, sponsored by State Representative Jim Boyd, these bills would authorize eligible surplus lines insurers to participate, in the same manner and on the same terms as an authorized insurer, in depopulation, take-out or keep-out programs relating to policies removed from Citizens. The bills would be effective on July 1, 2012.
