Florida Insurance Consumer Advocate’s Homeowners’ Policy and Claims Bill of Rights Working Group Webcast Live Today, July 17

The Florida Insurance Consumer Advocate’s Homeowners’ Policy and Claims Bill of Rights Working Group (“Working Group”) begins the first of two consecutive days of meetings in Tallahassee today, July 17, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. (ET).

Led by Florida Insurance Consumer Advocate Robin Smith Westcott, the Working Group will review claims adjusting and investigation, examinations under oath and post-claim underwriting practices during the morning portion of the session.  In the second half of today’s meeting, which is scheduled to conclude at 5:00 p.m., discussion will include the issue of public adjuster solicitation of consumers after a loss, policyholders’ requirements to mitigate damage, assignment of claims and unauthorized adjusting of claims. 

Public comment will be taken after both the morning and afternoon sessions.
