Tuesday, October 6

  • 9:00 a.m.–Florida Department of Revenue Rule Development Workshop.  Tallahassee, Florida.  Proposed amendments to Rule 12B-8.003 would adopt, by reference, five forms used in the administration of the insurance premium taxes, fees, and surcharges.  To view the meeting notice, click here.

Thursday, October 8

  • 9:00 a.m.–Florida Commission on Hurricane Loss Projection Methodology Flood Standards Development Committee meeting.  Tallahassee, Florida.  Teleconference:  (888) 670-3525; conference code:  7135858151.    Agenda includes discussion of working draft flood standards definitions and process for on-site visits for feedback on the “Discussion Flood Standards.”  To view the meeting notice, click here.

Monday, October 12

  • 1:00 p.m.–Florida Division of Insurance Agents and Agency Services Rule Development Workshop.  Tallahassee, Florida.  Proposed amendments would update the continuing education rules in Chapter 69B-228, pertaining to requirements and standards for all continuing education courses, providers of continuing education courses, school officials, instructors, supervising instructors, and licensees under Chapters 626 and 648, F.S.  Rules 69B-228.110, .120, .130, .190, and .240 are proposed for repeal.  To view the proposed Rule Chapter, click here.  To view the meeting notice, click here.

Tuesday, October 20

  • 2:00 p.m.–Florida Surplus Lines Service Office (“FSLSO”) Budget Committee meeting.  Tallahassee, Florida.  Agenda includes review of FSLSO proposed 2016 budget.  To view the meeting notice, click here.

Wednesday, October 21

  • 9:00 a.m.–FSLSO Quarterly Board of Governors meeting.  Tallahassee, Florida.  To view the meeting notice, click here.
  • 9:00 a.m.–Florida Office of Insurance Regulation Public Rate Hearing:  National Council on Compensation Insurance (“NCCI”).  Tallahassee, Florida.  The NCCI has requested an overall average decrease in rate levels of 1.9% for the voluntary market for all new and renewal workers’ compensation insurance policies written in the State of Florida, effective January 1, 2016.   The filing also includes a decrease to the expense constant from $200 to $160 which, when combined with the rate level decrease, would result in an overall average premium decrease of 2.2%.  To view the hearing notice, click here.

Thursday, October 22

  • 10:00 a.m.–Florida Division of Consumer Services Rule Development Workshop.  Tallahassee, Florida.  Proposed amendments to Rules 69J-8.008, “Selection of Neutral Evaluator,” and 69J-8.009, “Evaluation Process,” would increase the period of time that an insurer has to contact an insured after notice of a request to have a neutral evaluation of a sinkhole claim from three days to five, as well as clarify that failure to comply with the five-day requirement does not invalidate a party’s right to neutral evaluation or to disqualify proposed evaluators without cause.  To view the meeting notice, click here.
