Tuesday, May 28

  • Florida Hurricane Catastrophe Fund (“FHCF”) Proposed Rule Hearing; 9:00 a.m.  Proposed amendments to Rule 19-8.028 would adopt the 2013-2014 FHCF Reimbursement Premium Formula and 2013-2014 Reimbursement Premium Rates.  In addition, the proposed Rule specifies exposure reporting requirements and provisional premiums for specified new participants, revises exemptions from coverage for policies predominantly covering specialized fine arts risks or scheduled personal property meeting specified criteria, and deletes obsolete or unnecessary language.  To view the hearing notice, click here.

  • Florida Office of Insurance Regulation (“OIR”) Public Rate Hearing; 9:00 a.m.  Fidelity National Property and Casualty Insurance Company has requested an average statewide increase of 28.1 percent for its homeowners program, effective August 1, 2013 for new business and September 25, 2013 for renewal business.  The requested rate change is not uniform and some areas would be subject to higher rates.  To view the meeting notice, click here.

        • Proposed amendments to Rule 69O-149.003, “Rate Filing Procedures,” relating to life and health insurers, would delete the Maximum Annual Medical Trend tables from the text of the Rule, provide the URL of the OIR’s Web site on which the tables will be published and updated as needed, and limit the use of streamlined rate increase filings to Medicare Supplement providers with fewer than 1,000 policyholders nationwide, rather than to 1,000 policyholders in Florida.
