Above:  Dr. Jack Nicholson will update Florida Hurricane Catastrophe Fund Advisory Council members at tomorrow’s meeting.

 

The Florida Hurricane Catastrophe Fund (“FHCF”) Advisory Council will meet on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. ET in Tallahassee, Florida, to vote on October claims-paying capacity estimates.  Teleconference attendance is also available.

According to the report, the FHCF’s estimated claims-paying capacity for the initial season is $21.240 billion, which is $4.240 billion above the total potential maximum claims-paying obligation of $17 billion.

The meeting agenda also includes an update from FHCF Chief Operating Officer Dr. Jack Nicholson and discussion of future legislative ideas.

The Florida Division of Emergency Management (“DEM”) is expected to report on the Hurricane Loss Mitigation Program, a statewide grant plan funded annually by the Florida Legislature.
