Florida House of Representatives’ Governmental Operations Appropriations Subcommittee Advances Insurance Agent, Agency Proposal, Omnibus Bill

The Florida House of Representatives’ Governmental Operations Appropriations Subcommittee (“Subcommittee”) met today, March 4, 2014.  The agenda included CS/HB 565 by Representative Santiago, an insurance-related omnibus bill that makes numerous changes to Florida’s Insurance Code affecting various types of insurance. 

Two amendments were filed to the bill, but both were withdrawn without discussion.

CS/HB 565 was unanimously approved by the Subcommittee.

Also taken up was CS/HB 633 by State Representative Ingram, the Subcommittee Chairman, which amends Florida’s insurance agent and agency licensing law.  There were no amendments to the bill, and the Subcommittee unanimously approved it.
