Fire rating improves in Vinton

VINTON, La. – Homeowners in Vinton can expect lower insurance rates after the rating for the town’s fire department was raised.
KPLC reports ( http://bit.ly/O1fTwz) the Property Insurance Association of Louisiana raised the department’s rating to Class 3 from its previous Class 4 on a 10-point scale.
Vinton Fire Chief, Jerry Merchant said ratings are evaluated every five years and in a process that looks at various elements of fire protection.
