FHCF Funding Enhancement Purchase and 2009/2010 Premium Formula Approval on April 14 Cabinet Agenda

The Florida Cabinet meets today, April 14, 2009, at 9:30 a.m. in The Capitol.  As part of the agenda, the Florida State Board of Administration (“SBA”) will request authorization for the Florida Hurricane Catastrophe Fund (“FHCF”) to purchase certain financial products in order to enhance the FHCF’s ability to respond to participating insurers’ losses for the 2009/2010 reimbursement contract year.

Approval of the 2009/2010 FHCF Premium Formula and the proposed 2009/2010 FHCF rates will be requested as well.

Authority also will be requested to file a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking for Rule 19-8.028, F.A.C., Reimbursement Premium Formula, Rule 19-8.029, F.A.C., Insurer Reporting Requirements and Rule 19-8.030, F.A.C., Insurer Responsibilities.  The latter two proposed Rules, along with the corresponding forms for each would be filed for adoption if no member of the public were to request a hearing on them.
