The Federal Advisory Committee on Insurance (“FACI”) has scheduled its next public meeting on December 6, 2017, during which members will discuss a number of topics, including cyber regulation, the effect of natural catastrophes on the insurance marketplace, and U.S. Treasury’s Federal Insurance Office October 2017 Report on asset management and insurance regulation

Part of the U.S. Treasury, the Federal Insurance Office (“FIO”) was established by the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act.  The FIO’s authority extends to all lines of insurance except health insurance, long-term care insurance (except that which is included with life or annuity insurance components), and crop insurance.

The FACI provides advice and recommendations to assist the FIO in carrying out its statutory authority.
